Who We Are
Located in the heart of Southwest Georgia, Shelby Acres is a proud member of our community, situated just 50 minutes from Florida and 35 minutes from Alabama. For over 30 years, we have dedicated ourselves to raising livestock with care and compassion.
Our journey towards sustainability began during Operation Desert Shield in 1990, driven by a deep concern for providing a sustainable food source for our family and friends. This commitment quickly blossomed into a full-time farming operation. Today, we are honored to offer high-quality beef and pork, from our farm to your table, as well as breeding stock for fellow farmers. Our diverse cattle herds include Angus, Simmental, Charolais, British Whites, and Belted Galloway cattle, while our pork comes from Gloucester Old Spot and Kune Kune pigs.
At Shelby Acres, we prioritize the well-being of our animals and our community. Our cattle and hogs, once weaned, are available for breeding stock as well as packaged beef and pork We are proud to say that we do not use hormones, steroids, or any growth additives. Additionally, livestock intended for slaughter are free of antibiotics or anti-parasitic treatments. Our beef and pork are pasture-raised and grain-finished, ensuring the marbling, texture, and flavor that make a fine rib-eye so exceptional. The free-choice availability of grain, particularly corn, while costly, yields the highly sought-after prime beef.
Our commitment to animal welfare is unwavering. All livestock is raised under Animal Welfare Standards and processed just one mile from our farm in an Animal Welfare Approved facility, with slaughter conducted under USDA inspection.
At Shelby Acres, we believe in nurturing our animals and our community, ensuring that every step of our process reflects our dedication to quality and care.
